On 17 October, Samoa’s prime minister inaugurated a new terminal and apron at Faleolo International Airport. The project, which was completed last month, cost around $25 million tala.
Fiame Naomi Mata’afa stated that the new facilities signify a major investment in infrastructure, demonstrating their dedication to fostering socio-economic growth and creating opportunities across various industries in Samoa. She noted that the terminal and apron will serve passengers and small aircraft from several regional locations, including Tonga, Fiji, Tuvalu, Niue, and the Cook Islands, in addition to inter-island flights.
This development will also enhance aircraft parking capacity. The prime minister emphasized that the project elevates Samoa’s role as a regional hub for travel, trade, and tourism, declaring, “The terminal is not merely a transit point but a reflection of Samoa’s commitment to establishing a vibrant and accessible destination.”
