The complex features an indoor stadium for Tonga High School, an international-standard rugby field, netball and tennis courts, as well as an aquatics center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ceremonial handover occurred last Wednesday, with Prime Minister Dr. &#8216;Aisake Valu Eke and China\u2019s Ambassador to Tonga Liu Weimin in attendance. The indoor stadium was previously inaugurated by Crown Prince Tupouto&#8217;a &#8216;Ulukalala, serving as the main venue for the 53rd Pacific Islands Forum held last August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prime Minister Eke emphasized that the National Sports Complex not only offers high-quality sports facilities to the public but also aims to motivate Tongan athletes to strive for gold at the upcoming 2031 Pacific Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Tongan Prime Minister&#8217;s Office, the transfer of the complex marks a significant milestone in the relationship between Tonga and China.
